HUMAX Forms Strategic Partnership with HeyCharge and Announces Joint Development of Next-Generation Charging Stations

Enabling charging within buildings is essential for the success of the energy transition and electromobility in Europe — especially as around 80% of charging occurs at home and the workplace. While there are already numerous initiatives to improve EV charging in single-family homes, charging for residents of multi-family homes in urban areas has been significantly neglected due to high hardware costs and complicated installations. The product also offers the same benefits for charging fleets and employee vehicles in office buildings.

HUMAX and HeyCharge are tackling these challenges by developing a new generation of innovative AC charging hardware. The goal is to create an EV Charger for the mass market that makes installation in underground garages or areas with inadequate cellular coverage more attractive and faster. Both companies bring their core expertise to the development: HUMAX offers many years of experience in manufacturing cost-optimized electronic products and an international sales network. HeyCharge contributes its specially developed offline technology for underground garages and its billing software. This technology is integrated cost-effectively on-board and is automatically included in the charging station without retrofitting.

The partnership pursues a clearly-defined and ambitious goal: the reduction in total operating costs (TCO) of charging infrastructure by up to 50% compared to conventional solutions. The bundle of hardware and software, along with the associated billing functionality, offers a worry-free package for property owners and other charging infrastructure operators.

The new cost-efficient EV Charger is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2025.
